The challenge

Isle of Harris Distillery set out to introduce and drive awareness of The Hearach Whisky and Isle of Harris Gin among super-premium spirit drinkers in the USA, Canada, and Germany. The goal was clear, build brand recognition, spark consumer interest, and position both the gin and whisky products as a must-try choice in competitive global markets. 

Results that speak for themselves

The international campaigns each delivered outstanding results, exceeding expectations across reach, engagement, and efficiency in each market. Some of the highlights include: 

  • In the USA both whisky and gin campaigns reached over 11 million people, with more than 16 million impressions each, driving strong engagement and cost-efficient reach. 
  • In Germany performance exceeded our predictions, with 20% more link clicks than estimated. 
  • While in Canada we saw strong brand reinforcement, a high CTR of 2.72%, low cost per click, and significant video engagement demonstrating deep consumer interest. 

How we achieved this

In-depth consumer profiling 

We went beyond basic demographics, analysing key consumer attributes, behaviours, and motivations to understand not just who they are, but why and where they drink. By combining these insights with location-based data, we ensured highly targeted and effective campaigns in key international markets, maximising relevance and impact.

Rather than relying on volume, we ensured each piece of content was tailored to resonate with specific audiences – and by using strong brand storytelling, dynamic formatting and precise messaging, we created high-performing ads that drove engagement and delivered results despite creative constraints.

By analysing engagement metrics, audience behaviours, and conversion trends, we made adjustments to maximise efficiency, reallocating budgets to our top-performing creatives and audiences, optimising ad placements, and refining messaging. To further enhance our impact, we implemented retargeting campaigns in each market that helped to reinforce brand awareness and deepen consumer engagement in key locations, ensuring every interaction contributed to stronger results.
