What attracted you to working at Dog?

The variety of clients was exciting, as each client will have different requirements, leading to different things to work on/build from one day to the next. There is a solid management structure which helps to maintain good processes and general organisation. And generally working alongside another front-end dev as I have someone who I can bounce ideas off or ask for help/advice!

How much do you collaborate with other departments in Dog?

As I'm still relatively new, so far I’ve only collaborated with the design team, but that’s just down to the nature of the projects I’ve worked on! I look forward to working more with wider teams on future projects.

What is a typical day like for you at Dog?

Each morning we have a stand up which normally covers what we did the day before, what we’re planning to do on the day and just a general update on active projects. Once the stand up is finished, it’s on to the "proper" part of the day! Typically, this will be working in either HTML, CSS or JS, depending on the requirements of the project. We might also have to work in one of our CMSs - Sitecore or Umbraco - to make sure we have the correct content to work with. Once the work is complete, a quick sanity check is done to make sure that it’s ok across the required browsers/screen sizes. Outside of that, we might have the odd meeting here and there to have a quick brief on the work to be done, a more in-depth update, etc.

What do you enjoy most about working at Dog?

The work is challenging and is allowing me to develop new skills as well as improve on existing skills. The staff have all been great to work with, very friendly and feels like we’re all working together to get the job done.
