How long have you worked at Dog?

I joined Dog at the beginning of December last year, so nearly a year ago now.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Every day is different, and my role can vary depending on what clients and campaigns are the priority. Generally, it starts with a cup of tea and some emails, then we have standup where we find out what everyone in the team is up to that day. After that, I dive into Google Ads—checking keywords, adjusting bids, and making sure campaigns are optimised and performing well. From there, I might shift to paid social, setting up or optimising campaigns or doing some influencer management or SEO.

What’s been the most memorable project you’ve worked on at Dog?

The most memorable project I’ve worked on at Dog would probably be WeeBox. It was a great opportunity to learn across multiple areas of marketing. I was heavily involved in both paid social and search, handling everything from strategy development to audience targeting, keyword research, and reporting. Each month had a different theme, so adapting the strategy to fit those changing themes was interesting. I also enjoyed working more on the creative side of things by being involved in organic social, email marketing, planning and attending shoots where I helped create some of the video content.

What would you say to someone who wants to join Dog?

The team are lovely, and it’s a great place for hands-on learning, as you’re encouraged to dive right in and take on responsibilities. Actual dogs are also allowed in the office, which is great.

What do you wish other Dog team members knew about your role?

That search isn’t as boring, technical or as complicated as it seems. It’s a lot about understanding the audiences, what’s being offered and how they might look for that... it’s just common sense really!

Finally, if your job had a theme tune what would it be?

The Sound of Silence – Simon and Garfunkel (the buskers we can hear from Buchanan Street really need to learn more than just this song)
